Emily Wernsdorfer is the house manager for The Yarn shows. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has lived in Arkansas since 2008 and considers the south ‘home’ now. Emily is the Associate Director at Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center, the perfect job for someone who loves spending time outdoors and working with children and youth. In her spare time, Emily likes to hike with her dog Butler, travel, and read, but her favorite hobby is knitting. Whenever she tells friends that she volunteers with The Yarn, they say, “Oh, that makes sense!” and she has to clarify that it’s a storytelling organization and not a group for knitters.
One thing she loves about camp is the tradition of storytelling. All camps have origin stories, campfire tales, lore, and legends that are passed down from camper to camper. She wanted to share her childhood camp’s ghost story to carry on that storytelling tradition in her own small way. Beware Cricket Bones, the skeletal demon who haunts the Camp Echo Trail woods to this day!
