Hal Wofford Hutchison
Hal Wofford Hutchison is a former journalist and teacher who grew up in Brinkley, Arkansas, near the Mississippi Delta region. After graduating from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1983, she worked as a journalist and editor at the Arkansas Democrat and Arkansas Gazette newspapers. When the Arkansas Gazette closed in 1991, she returned to school for a master’s degree in education and taught school in Brinkley before becoming a Student Development Specialist and assistant to the dean at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She left the University in 2009 when she and her husband adopted a child from Ethiopia. She is now a full-time mother who writes about motherhood and posts selected pieces on her website, www.LastTrainToMotherhood.com. She lives in Little Rock with her husband of 23 years and their 10-year-old daughter.
