José Gutiérrez is a proud gay man, Mexican born, who has lived in the state of Arkansas since age six. His creativity and talent as an artist have been fostered since early youth. José’s passion for fairness and equal treatment matured as he grew up based on his experience as an immigrant, person of color and a gay man. Now the director of Center for Artistic Revolution, he continues to collectively work toward equity and liberation. José wanted to share his story with others to educate and bring awareness to those who struggle with their gender/sexuality in hopes that they can live their true selves.
